and why I played it...
this show was a slushy Valentine's Day special and went out pretty much to my wife Janice. I played two songs I wrote for her with my songwriting partner Sam Hill. There was also A Case Of You which is one of our favourite songs. I particularly like the lines "I was frightened by the devil and drawn to those who aint afraid." The Morrison song Northern Muse was crucial because it mentions the spiritual guru of a woman in the song coming from the County Down which is where Janice grew up. After talking about love we moved as in best St. Paul letter writing tradition into a practical outworking of love with the last few songs. Particularly challenging is Brian Houston's Too Busy which always cuts deep...
