Lyrics to Unwritten Tunes - Poetry and liturgy

Both

You, I see kicking in the grass
Running left and dreaming dreams
When your soul feels the delight of God
How effortless living seems
And you, I see on a township
Raging that it can be like this
Turning belief into determination
Giving this sad earth a kiss
Epiphanies rarely happen
When you try to conjure it up
But there in this our daily bread
And a communal cup
Epiphanies rarely happen
When we think the stage is set
But grace is shining a revelation
In this moment that your lips met.

I see you both in the garden
Making laughter at the neighbour’s wall
Never invading their private souls
But always there when they call
I see you both at the altar
Not together but as of one
And praying poetic benediction
In your kiss when day is done
Epiphanies rarely happen
When you try to conjure it up
But there in this our daily bread
And a communal cup
Epiphanies rarely happen
When we think the stage is set
Grace is shining in revelation
In this moment that your lips met

Both together much more effective
More able in all that you do
Never get trapped in what or how
Love each other into who
You can never fall in love with love
Til you’ve loved somebody first
Love is a joy in the for the better
But love is proven in for the worse.
