Even the Fringes are Sacred - Music and art

Artist A-Z

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Take Them On, On Your Own

Following their debut album full of lead heavy guitars and Jesus and Mary Chain comparisons BRMC have if anything lightened up the sound…but everything is relative! You could describe the heaviness of their sound as the armour of a medieval knight fur lined with tunes that are soft on the skin; killer pop melodies beneath grunge meets punk with a little T. Rex thrown in! There’s nothing soft about the message here either. Attacks on the US government sit alongside challenges to our selfish society where we cannot seem to get enough but need to Stop as the first single declares. They are saying that we are forced to imbibe the globalised consumerism but in return it will not bleed or die for us! It means that these guys cannot feel at home in this generation that seems to be in a coma and allowing all kinds of things to happen to us. The culture invades us but we are not being liberated. At last someone is screaming out. Dig deep and transcendence whispers back!
